Award Winning Design: Mitsuro Hikime 14k Gold Ring
MJSA Journal: Sweeter Than Candy

Geralyn is a featured designer in the October issue of MJSA Journal. Tina Snyder's Sweeter Than Candy discusses the award winning Mitsuro Hikime ring, which won the Retailers' Choice Award and was a finalist in the Gold Jewelry <$5,000 category in the 2020 Jeweler's Choice Awards.

The ring boasts sculptural curves handcrafted in mitsuro hikime wax and cast into 14k gold. Gold ribbons are brush finished with high shine edges to highlight the ring's flowing curves.

Founder of a family-run studio in Chico, California, goldsmith and gemologist Geralyn Sheridan creates socially responsible jewelry that incorporates natural textures, sculptural curves, and flowing movement. She draws inspiration from her everyday life as well as from the memories of her childhood, and in this podcast she describes how five such inspirations were translated into standout jewelry designs.

This episode is the first in MJSA's newest “Five Alive” series of podcasts. Every month, they ask some of the industry’s top talents—designers, manufacturers, bench jewelers, business executives, and educators—to share five key lessons they’ve learned in their careers.
